Kid Cudi is pissed off on Twitter again. On September 14th, the popular hip-hop artists went on a Twitter rant, with major shade thrown at his mentor Kanye West and Drake.

The Cleveland native who skyrocketed to popularity in the late 2000’s after being featured on Kanye West’s 808’s & Heartbreaks has always had issues with music industry types. His profanity-laced Twitter rant, which featured tweets like “Everyone thinks they’re so great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them” and then clarifying that “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye (Kanye), Drake, whoever. These (explicit) don’t give a (explicit) about me. And they aint (explicit) with me.”

Cudi, whose constantly evolved the sound of his music, clearly doesn’t like the way guys like West and Drake use ghostwriters for their songs and have multiple producers on each track. While Cudi’s last album Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven was panned by critics, Cudi described the Nirvana-influenced record as a passion project. He put his heart and soul into the record and his calling out of top names in the industry show that he doesn’t feel some of his peers are doing the same. It will be interesting to see if there’s any backlash from the artists who Cudi called out.
